How we work

Our Approach

Play-led, evidence-informed, and led by people who genuinely love this job. Here's exactly how we care for your child, every single day.

Philosophy

Play is the work of childhood

We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, but we don't chase worksheets or flashcards. Instead, we build rich, inviting environments, a mud kitchen, a book nook, a construction corner, and let children's own curiosity lead the way.

Our key-person system means every child has one trusted adult who knows them best: their sleep patterns, their favourite stories, the way they like their toast cut. That relationship is the foundation everything else is built on.

We observe, we document, we plan around what each child is genuinely interested in this week, not a generic curriculum. Learning happens in the sandpit as much as it does at the story mat.

The environment

Every corner designed for wonder

Our rooms open straight onto a half-acre garden with a mud kitchen, a willow tunnel, a vegetable patch the children plant themselves, and a covered deck for rainy-day play, because "too wet for outside" isn't a phrase we use.

Meet a few of us

The people your child will love

Our whole team is level 3 qualified or above, paediatric first-aid trained, and DBS-checked, but numbers only tell half the story.

Sarah Whitmore

Twelve years in early years and an EYFS Level 5 leader, Sarah still spends her mornings on the floor with the babies. She built our key-person system from the ground up.

Priya Anand

Priya specialises in early language and communication and has a gift for turning a toddler meltdown into a giggle within about eleven seconds flat.

Dave Boon

A trained chef and food-allergy specialist, Dave cooks every meal from scratch and knows each child's dietary needs by name, no exceptions, ever.

Safeguarding, without exception

Every team member is enhanced DBS-checked, safer-recruitment vetted, and trained annually in safeguarding, prevent duty and paediatric first aid. Doors are keypad-secured, sign-in is digital, and our safeguarding lead is always on site.

Food that actually nourishes

Fresh, seasonal, cooked-from-scratch meals every day, with menus published weekly and every allergy catered for individually. No ultra-processed shortcuts, ever.

What we believe

Our values, in plain English

Kindness first

Every decision, from menus to rotas, starts with what's kindest for the child in front of us.

Curiosity over correctness

A "wrong" answer given with wonder beats a "right" one given by rote, every time.

Every family belongs

Different shapes, cultures, languages and routines are welcomed and celebrated, not just tolerated.

Nature, every day

Rain or shine, every child gets fresh air, mud and growing things as part of their day.

Honest communication

You'll always know exactly how your child's day went, the wobbles included, not just the highlights.

Consistent routines

Predictable rhythms help little nervous systems feel safe enough to explore, learn and play.
